Rosemont Art Advisory Exclusive interview with Laurence Genevet, Director of EPI Communication in Monaco.

This interview is part of series of artist interview, released every month in our newsletter.

Few lines on your executive journalism mission, your main challenge vis a vis the clients you serve and take care of

I feel more like an entrepreneur than a journalist. It is a paradox to run a communication and publishing company. Nevertheless, in my writing role, I like the economic and financial sectors. That is the reality, the nerve of the war. A society, however creative it may be, and even in glamorous sectors such as fashion, or beauty, must have strong foundations, and development plans... otherwise, they die. During my interviews, I try to understand the architecture of companies, their ambitions... And above all to establish a climate of trust, in order to start a real discussion.  Interviewing artists is for me a recreation, an opening to another world, a world of emotions... or for once, we can abandon all logic.

Your favorite artist you would like to interview ( dead or alive ) ?

Certainly David Lynch: a filmmaker, screenwriter, photographer, musician and painter... a complete artist, who has a strong intuition for the worlds of tomorrow. Twin Peaks, The elephant man, Blue Velvet have moved me terribly, or impressed me.
Otherwise, Dali, an interview focused on the Marseille tarot he revisited, and on symbolism....

Your definition of a perfect day-off ?

Lying by the sea, all the way to the shore, with the spray on his face and a good book in his hands.
